Thank you Dentist

For hooking my kids up with these sweet glasses:

I took all three kids to the dentist last Friday, they did great, and there teeth looked great too.  The dental assistants and dentist all commented that they rarely have such good patients, especially so young!  The kids have been asking when they get to go back to the dentist ... apparently the large goody bags one them over.

Snow Day

We took the kids out sledding a week or so ago, it was Raya's first time sledding! :)
I'm not sure what she thought of it...
Levi slid down the hill like this:
because Seth slid down the hill like this:
He really likes to eat snow
 She doesn't.
We eventually got Levi on a sled.  He is so funny.
Ended the day with a movie night.  It was a pretty ideal.

I don't know if I can do it...

It may be unkempt, uneven and uncontrolled... but I love Levi's long hair.
He really wants "spikey hair."  What's a mother to do?

Tears

We've had plenty of them today.
Every time Raya looks at this mishap:
She cries.
And just so you know, she touched a night light, and it was lame.
She's pretty depressed about her finger, I think she thinks that her finger will never be normal again by the way she holds it and screams at the sight of it.  It's pretty sad, but after a day of frenzied hysteric emotions, your start to become a bit numb ... . ...

It doesn't help that she also has these big'ins coming in:
Her incisors are really bothering her: rubbing her ears, biting her fingers ... well accept the blistered one.  Her gums have been bleeding around where the teeth are forcing their way through. My poor Raya.

Top it off with a cold and a rebruised forhead ... it's darker in person --
you have a very sad, and cranky (cranky) Raya.
These tears were because she ran out of fruit snacks.

and just a note.. these pictures were all taken within five minutes.  I do not follow my children around all day taking pictures of them crying.. ... though I could!

Valentine's Day Party

The cards:
The Shrits:

 The helpers:
I don't know what has happened, but I've been really crafty lately.  In the last month I've knitted 10 hats + some accessories, made a stack of birthday cards, painted my bathroom cabinets white, currently priming my bathroom for painting, started a blog book, made posters for various activities in Church, THIS MONTH HAS FLOWN BY.  and I'm glad, I loathe winter.

And latest project was helping with the Playgroup Valentine Party --

and kids are crying... another scattered blog post :)

feeding a family of five

Grocery shopping has turned into quite the sporting event for me. With arms full extended, pushing a fully laden 200+ pound cart around undiscerning people and tight corners, it's a workout!

At the beginning of the month I like to stock up my pantry and go to Winco. Winco doesn't have baggers, instead it has two conveyors so one custumor can bag their own groceries while another customer is starting the checkout process.

I fully loaded both conveyor lanes tonight.  The cashier actually helped me bag (which I've never seen done) because there was no room for the next customer's food. After several (several) minutes she was able to help the next person in line... and as he came to bag his groceries (don't worry I was still slaving away) he asked me if I needed any help out to my car.  I guess I looked like I needed  help....

And, The grande finale of my grocery escapade closed with a bewildered looking lady rushing towards me in the parking lot; I had forgotten the ground mustard. Oh ground mustard, do I really need you anyways?

Last thought: How much food will my family consume once the kids are teenagers???

Happy Birthday!

Dragon Parade

Today at Montessori Seth celebrated the Chinese New Year, and families were invited to watch and participate in the parade.   The children made loud noises (to scare away bad luck) and passed out candy and fortune cookies.  We read a book together and were given some other festive New Year favors.  Here's to a lucky new year, the year of the Rabbit.

Raya, Levi and I roam these hallways twice a day....

Seth made this outfit and props especially for the parade
He gave Levi one so he could join in on the fun
 Raya got a sucker.
