I'm good.

One hour later -- another blog post! -- this goal will be simple ;)

You know... late night power cleaning before bed... Jeff's working late for the third night in a row.... and I'm slacking a bit around the house.    Anyways, I laughed out loud when I saw what my kids were up to in their playroom today.  Gosh darn it they are cute.

Seth is a sports  FANATIC

A doodle:  UW vs WSU.  Go Cougs!  -- he cut out his football players and stuck them to the wall with wall tacky.

Levi following suit.... here is a merman and a fire breathing dragon:

Apparently an archery contest took place... Robin Hood the winner:
So.Stinkin.Cute.  Levi's doodle of a Leopard in a tree.  I'm keeping these doodles up forever. I love them.

What Rae I believe was up to.... this little toilet seat was prominently placed.... we have been brainwashing her with potty power lately... it may be working.

Favorite cleaning music: Adele.  My kids DESPISE Adele now.

Goal.

Is it bad to start off a goal, by stating that I hate setting goals? -- Probably.  But I hate setting goals, I'm too flexible and lenient.  (But) I want to be better at record keeping instead of just our highlights.  --  There are all those little moments, and crazy moments I want to remember. So.. goal: write in journal (blog) 5 times a week.

there. I made one. --- makes me shudder, but there you have it.

Today... this week.... Seth has the entire week off of school, and while I thought we would find ourselves relaxing, reading and cuddling on the couch more -- we seem to be even busier!  All those play dates we need to catch up on.

Typical Wednesday, Seth has swimming lessons at 9:00 and I take Levi and Rae swimming.  After lessons are done Seth joins us for free swim.  But since Kindergartners are out of school this week we had some friends join us that are in AM kindergarten.  What a ruckus 4 Kindergartner boys can make!   One family brought squirt toys and snorkels....  balls flying, wrestling, underwater flips and hand stands, cannon balls. Seth was able to play with his friends in the lap pool and race. Definitely more fun then just plain 'ole mom.

Afterwards we met with a friend for Pizza -- I was surprised that he brought 4 extra kids.... Imagine a teeny tiny pizza shop like maybe 300 sq ft.  (Pizza Perfection) and 8 kids and ... and of course the poor handful adults trying to have a quiet lunch... which ended up staring at me and my friend trying to figure out the puzzle of whose kids were whose, were they all ours -- how did all these children get here?!  It was surprisingly fun and relaxing as I got to catch up with my friend.

Jeff met with Seth's Kindergarten teacher for conference... he is in the 99th percentile.. not that surprised. She said that she rarely gives out 4's and C's for this report card... which he got 95% of... He's smart. I get it.  But what made me the most pleased was that she said that Seth is confident in his abilities, but doesn't boast.  He is thoughtful and kind.  Seriously I am so proud of him I am bursting.

Seth also did awesome at violin practice today.  I am in awe of my kids and how wonderfully talented they are.

all you need is love

There were a couple of girls in Seth's class that really liked his Valentine's card..... one girl made a special note on her Valentine to Seth saying, "I like you." -- And what does Seth do when this (cute) girl comes up to him, thanking him for his picture-Valentine?  He grunts!

Cute girl: "I really like your Valentine Seth"
Seth: "eh -umph"
Me: "Sethy...."
Seth: (mumbled) "you're... welcome..."

The kids and I had a lot of fun this Valentine's Day.  We made sugar cookies and took them to Jeff's work... and made Valentine plates for friends.  I also made fortune cookies for Seth's class and put Valentine jokes inside them.  The kids loved them!  It was fun... and unintentionally educational -- as the kids practiced reading, (perfect).

Here are a picture of the kids' Valentine's shirts... and a sugar cookie and fortune cookie straggler.  Jeff and I also wrote notes for our kids to wake up too... that's what's on the shirt/candy ensemble.

Throughout the day Jeff sent me drawings from his computer.... explanation:  Jeff and I did a two year long distance relationship, and he would make me these ridiculously detailed drawings done in Paint... because we were young and had time to waste three hours doodling in paint.  Anyways, I love them, so this Valentine he made me 6 sketches done in Paint... with a message.  It was nice :)

toga

Seth moment:

I was driving in the van with Seth:

"Mommy, we should make a volcano cake for Raya's next birthday."
"A volcano cake?  What made you think of that?"
"Because Mount Vesuvius blew up on September 14th, you know the volcano that destroyed Pompeii."

... you know a toga party might be kind'of cute for a 3 year old birthday party....

Sunday activity

We made a solar car from a solar robot kit.  The kids were ecstatic when the wheels moved.

I think it's pretty cute.

Saturday freebies

Free ice fishing

Moscow Parks and Rec puts on a free ice fishing derby every year at Spring Valley Reservoir.
Seth loved it, and he really wanted to catch a fish for lunch.
No fish.
But, I baited a maggot.
And, Seth got a free fishing pole.
It was a lot of fun having some one-on-one time with Seth.

Free WSU Basketball Game

We had so much fun.
Seth was literally on the edge of his seat.
(look at the pictures)
Raya and Levi ate ice cream.
(Notice Raya's face).
Seth didn't want ice cream.
(who is this kid?)

Cougars lost.
Seth was teary eyed.

Free Movie.

from the library.
I love our library.
good night.

School interferes with learning.

I took Seth out of school early today so we could attend an ElectoAcoustic concert at WSU.  He learns so much more experiencing, reading and enjoying.  I've been less than impressed with the Kindergarten curriculum and how they haven't risen to the occasion to challenge him.  bah.

Another note... Seth lost his third tooth :)
