Seth is well and above the first grade curriculum. So, once he has finished the task the rest of the class is doing he is gets.. busy work. Which sounds awful, but the busy work Seth is given is enjoyable and refines his skills. There are lots of drawing exercises that he loves (and his drawing and attention to detail has improved a lot already!) and also word searches which helps for spelling bigger words. ... Every day he bring home papers that he has done in class.... it is quite the pile!
